hat survey

A quick clip of me in this week's Creative Loafing, talking about hats while wearing a fabulous vintage Schiaparelli design.
I'll ask you the same question they asked me: Are hats still relevant, do people still wear them in your town?

personally - not a fan of hats (winter hats, being the exception). But, I can agree that hats make the look. For casual wear, I think hats can sometimes stifle or confuse a look, making the wearer look like he/she is trying too hard or scattered about different style images. For cocktail/formal wear, I highly endorse hats. With a suit, a man can wear a fedora or a flat cap, thus adding an ineresting element to a look. Women have it easy and can find a nice vintage cloche or something. It's a very classy and sophisticated choice to finish a dressy look with a hat. Other than that, I can't really find myself in one.

Despite the fact that I don't really wear hats (and don't know many people who do), I wish hats were more de riguer. Like shoes, the color, cut and materials for a hat can really make an outfit--and is that much more noticeable for being on your head. Cute pic and I envy the hat!

Of course they're relevant and if they begin to wane, we should bring them back. Especially the kind that says "I'm so civilized".

I confess, I can't really wear hats, I always feel a bit silly. They look great on other people and I envy them.

Hats make grown men look silly; like they are children playing dress-up. Much like bowties. Hats on females? Thats perfectly fine. Well, baseball caps are wrong regardless of gender.

Love that pic, love Schiaparelli(alas I only own a sweet satin pink jewelry organizer by Elsa). Hats will always be relavent,my best bud works the vintage hats as lovely as you do. Hats are not good on me (I have a small forehead)but from time to time,I cannot resist to pull one out from my vintage collection and take it for a spin.
